Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group forming

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent Karen DeZarn has announced the formation of an Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group that will meet May 20 at 10 a.m. The group will gather the third Friday of every month in the conference room of the Lampasas County Office Building, 409 S.

Lampasas hosts GFWC Capitol District Spring Convention

The ’36 Club and the Pierian Club, both of Lampasas, hosted the GFWC Texas Capitol District Spring Convention at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on March 16. Theme of the meeting, led by Capitol District President Dixie Gilley, was “Preserve the Past, Promote the Present and Inspire the Future.” Lampasas Mayor TJ Monroe welcomed the group of 34 clubwomen to Lampasas and highlighted the many attractions of the area.

Eleya Glass, 39, guesses she was known around town as the lady pregnant with twins. “Every time I’d go to H-E-B, they’d all ask me, you know, ‘Have you had your twins yet? How’s it going?,’ ” the Lampasas newcomer said, describing the close-knit nature of the community.
