The recent heat wave that swept across much of the country is a good reminder to take extra care of our plants and ourselves as temperatures climb. Extreme temperatures can take their toll even on plants normally suited to the growing conditions.

Sulphur Creek Car Cruise results are in!

The Sulphur Creek Car Cruise drew 110 entries, nine burnout competitors and 12 vehicles that participated on the parade lap, visiting local nursing homes.The competition results follow.Best of Show: Arvel Hathcock, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.Best of Show Runnerup: Willie Thomas, 1968 Pontiac GTO.

The Lampasas High School Class of 1980 will gather on the patio (indoors) at Putters & Gutters Fun Center, 2341 South U.S. Highway 281 in Lampasas, on July 12 from 12:30-3 p.m. Everyone is on their own for food and alcoholic beverages.Water and tea will be available.

The 2025 Spring Ho Beauty Pageant will begin at 5:45 p.m. Monday inside Grace Fellowship church. The pageant follows Opening Ceremonies. Attendance at the pageant is $5 and free for those with a Spring Ho badge. This year, 20 Little Miss contestants have entered the pageant.
