Pearl Main Street Festival returns in October

The Pearl Main Stret Festival will provide fun and fellowship Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pearl Country Church in Pearl. Donations received this year will go toward disaster relief.A meal of fried fish, French fries and hush puppies will be served during the festival on a donation basis.

We’ve all heard a concerned parent, relative or friend say the phrase at one time or another. In fact, it’s so common, it’s become somewhat of a cultural inside joke: “Make good choices.”For the most part, if we’re concerned at all with our health and wellness, we try to follow this advice.

17th annual Classics at the Classic Car Show on tap

Classics at the Classic is gearing up for its 17th annual pre-1990 car show. This free family event will be held Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the back parking lot of Storm’s Drive-In, 201 N. Key Ave.The group also will be celebrating Storm’s 75th anniversary at this event.

Lampasas County Farm Bureau awards prizes after successful membership drive

Lampasas County Farm Bureau continues to promote agriculture and ag advocacy here in the county and statewide. It consistently has pushed for local membership renewals and often is the top county in District 8 in terms of renewal percentage (over 91% to date).

Dove population strong, but rain may hinder early-season harvest

Despite early weather challenges, Texas dove hunters can look forward to a strong 2025 season.Spring population surveys conducted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department staff found mourning dove numbers continue to trend near historic highs.
