Girls’ basketball wins tiebreaker game over Burnet

The Lady Badgers had to travel to Copperas Cove last Friday to take on Burnet. At stake was the second seed in District 24-4A.

Badgers win third game in a row, move to 4-4 in district

The Badgers continued their winning ways during the second half of district basketball play. They secured a third consecutive victory Tuesday night when they played Jarrell on the road. The 49-45 win came at the end of a back-and-forth, physical game.

Middle school basketball teams compete for district championships

The Lampasas Middle School basketball “A” teams competed at their district tournaments last week, and one team came home as the district champion. The seventh-grade “A” girls’ team won its first game of the tournament by a score of 22-14 over Marble Falls.

Jarrell takes game over Lady Badgers

The Lady Badgers went to Jarrell Tuesday night for their final district game of the season, with a tie for the district lead on the line. The Lampasas girls started the game hot and led for the entire first half.

Badgers have several standouts at district wrestling tournament

The Badger wrestling teams competed in the district tournament last week, and several competitors finished in the top three of their weight class. Lampasas head coach Donovan Kleckner said 10 female wrestlers are heading to the regional tournament because of their success at district.

Soccer teams play early district matches

The Badger and Lady Badger soccer teams just finished a stretch of district games that saw them both play three games from last Friday through Wednesday. They opened up with home games against China Spring on Friday. The girls recorded a 4-0 loss, but the boys were dominant in a 6-1 win.

Badgers win district games on back-to-back nights

The inclement weather last week created some scheduling difficulties around Lampasas basketball and forced teams to play district games on back-toback nights last Thursday and Friday. To start, the Badgers hosted Marble Falls on Thursday.
