The Lady Badger volleyball team didn’t have its best night in Tuesday’s loss to the Brownwood Lady Lions. The final score was 25-10, 25-18, 25-9 over the three sets.Lampasas made too many mistakes against a good Brownwood team.

Dove season officially opens Sept. 1, and Lampasas County could see a better year for birds than in the recent past.Lampasas County Game Warden Brett Hernandez is stationed here for his first dove season after moving to Lampasas from McMullen County in South Texas last fall.

Badgers take on opponent for first time in scrimmage against Gatesville

The first scrimmage of the season is officially in the books for Badger football after the team took on Gatesville last Friday.The two squads went back and forth swapping possessions for the first 45 minutes of the scrimmage before they went into a live quarter with a 15-minute running clock.

Last Friday, the Badger tennis team took on Pflugerville and emerged with a dominant win. Lampasas took all matches for the 19-0 team victory.

Volleyball team wins bracket at Killeen tournament

The Lady Badger volleyball team traveled to Killeen last week for its first tournament of the season and played eight games over Thursday, Friday and Saturday.In the pool play games on Thursday and Friday, the Lady Badgers got a win via forfeit over Ennis.

Annual golf tournament to benefit medical center

AdventHealth Central Texas Foundation will host its annual golf tournament on Sept. 6 at the Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen.Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the scramble starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants may register with a team or as an individual player.

lady Badgers win season-opener over Manor New Tech

A 3-0 sweep of Manor New Tech was a good way for the Lady Badger volleyball team to start the season.The Lampasas players came out a little slow early in the match, but they were able to end the first set on a run to win 25-23.
