William James Dumas, known to many as Jim, died on Jan. 22, 2025, just days shy of his 94th birthday.Born to William Norman and Mary Jewel Dumas, he was raised in Izoro.James graduated from Lampasas High School in 1948.

Floyd Stephen Cox, 54, died on Jan. 21, 2025, at Caraday of Lampasas in Lampasas.Graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Burnet County at 2 p.m. on Jan. 30.After the service, dessert, coffee and tea will be served at the Lake Victor Community Center.

Martha Ann O’Keefe Lamond, 86, of Kennesaw, Georgia died on Jan. 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.Martha was born on Nov. 26, 1938, to Thomas Merton McCormick and Nelda Faye Watson McCormick in Lampasas.She attended Lampasas public schools.

Kacee Dawn Best, 17, died on Jan. 20, 2025, in Lampasas.A memorial service will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Feb. 1 at noon.Kacee was born on Feb. 22, 2007, in Gillette, Wyoming to Dusty and Tammy (Veal) Best.

Elliot Glen Pope, 59, died on Jan. 19, 2025, at his home in Lampasas.Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Jan. 26 at 3 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Elliot was born on May 21, 1965, in Fort Worth to Philip and Anita Pope.

Beverly M. Wholaver, 57, of Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania, died Dec. 9, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.She was born July 18, 1967, the daughter of James M. Garner, and Beverly (Lloyd) Bennett and husband, John.

Jennifer Ann Griffin Garvin, 44, of Huntsville and formerly of Lampasas, died Jan. 16, 2025 in Huntsville.Memorial services will be held at Lampasas Community Church on Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.Jenny was born on Jan. 18, 1980 in Lampasas to Jan Weeks and Johnny Griffin.

Mrs. DePalma

Lorraine Marie DePalma, 67, of Lampasas died at her home on Jan. 12, 2025.Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 25 at 11 a.m.Lori was born on Jan. 12, 1958, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph and Lorraine (Becker) Stafki.
