Train, 18-wheeler collide, but no one injured

A truck driver walked away with no apparent injuries Monday after his 18-wheeler was struck by a moving train, public-safety officials said. The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. at an unmarked railroad crossing adjacent to U.S. Highway 190 in Kempner.

Lometa ISD receives $27K in coronavirus reimbursement from county

The Lometa Independent School District received financial help the federal government passed down through the county.  During a Lampasas County Commissioners Court meeting last week, County Auditor Tragina Tallant requested that approximately $20,117 go to Lometa ISD for COVID-19 reimbursement.

Council approves bid for repairs on West Third

Improvements on West Third Street might take as few as 45 days to complete, according to city staff. During the March 8 Lampasas City Council meeting, Assistant City Manager Rickie Roy updated council members on the status of the 1100 block of West Third Street.
