Fire damages Lometa school room; house burns in separate blaze

Lampasas Fire Marshal Ronnie Withers said a fire Saturday at Lometa Public School has been ruled “accidental,” and the damage is repairable. A few hours after the school fire, however, a separate fire destroyed a house not far from the campus.

Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gaunt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Judd Colby Harpool of Lampasas entered a plea of true to his charge of driving while intoxicated-third or more and was found true.
