Lampasas County 27th District Court convened in a special setting Tuesday, with Judge John Gauntt presiding.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Livestock association to meet May 10

The Lampasas County Livestock Association’s annual general member meeting is scheduled May 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the county show barn. The meeting is open to any Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show exhibitors and their parents.

Wednesday fire displaces family

Multiple agencies responded to a structure fire that claimed the life of a family pet. On Wednesday, shortly before 12:25 p.m., the Lampasas Fire Department was dispatched to a house off FM 2657 near FM 3046 east of Kempner.

Time to make votes count

Saturday is the official 2021 municipal election for voters across Lampasas County. A total of 486 votes were recorded through the earlyvoting period in Lampasas, Kempner and Lometa elections.

The Vision Lampasas organization will have to go to the state to have one of its projects considered for placement on the downtown square, according to the Lampasas County Historical Commission.

Railroad crossing at FM 581 in Lometa to close Monday for maintenance

BNSF Railway will close a section of FM 581 will close a section of Farm-to-Market 581 (Main Street) in Lometa on Monday for the BNSF Railway to perform maintenance on a railroad crossing. This closure will begin at 7 a.m.  Monday and work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. the following day.
