Job market offers opportunity for workers

Much of the nation has seen a surge in demand for workers. That applies to the food industry in particular. Lampasas Economic Development Director Mandy Love Walsh said there were 566 total unique job postings in Lampasas for April 2021.

The report from the May 19 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 109, compared to 244 last sale and 729 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls also steady.

FOOD PANTRY St. Mary Catholic Church’s food pantry distribution will take place Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 701 N. Key Ave. Volunteers will load prepackaged boxes and bags of groceries into each vehicle. An assortment of meat, bread, eggs and produce also is expected to be available.
