Lampasas County man injured in Friday’s motorcycle crash

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital after police say he was struck by a pickup truck. At about 8:15 a.m. Friday, the Lampasas Police Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of FM 580 East at the intersection of Old Convent Road.

Lake Brownwood, Inks Lake infested with zebra mussels

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has designated Lake Brownwood, Inks Lake and Medina Lake in the Colorado and San Antonio River basins as “infested” with invasive zebra mussels. These animals grow only to about 1.5 inches in length but multiply rapidly over large areas.

The Conservative Political Action Conference is headed to Texas for the first time. The event will be held in Dallas at the Anatole Hotel July 9-11. CPAC is considered the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world.
