Aug. 16 jury trial canceled

Lampasas County District Clerk Edith Harrison announced Friday that the jury trial scheduled for Aug. 16 in 27th District Court has been canceled. Jurors do not need to report on that date.

The Hoffpauir Riata Roundup Rodeo will kick off three days of action, starting Thursday at the 580 Sports Complex on FM 580 West in Lampasas. Crowning of the Riata queen and her court is set for Friday evening before rodeo action begins.

AAA reports an increase in Texas gasoline prices

While the heat index is going up in Texas, so are gasoline prices due to high demand this summer, according to the latest AAA reports. The average price in Texas for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $2.83, about 93 cents more per gallon than a year ago.
