County tax rate could decrease

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court voted Monday morning to propose a fiscal year 2021-2022 tax rate that is three cents lower than the current rate. Property owners still may see a tax increase, however, if their assessed property values have increased in the past year.

Cattle owners, it’s time to renew your marks and brands. All Texas cattle brands and marks are set to expire on Aug. 30, according to the Texas Agricultural Code. Brand owners will be required to renew during the sixmonth renewal period that ends Feb. 28, 2022.
