Public hearing sparks re-evaluation of county’s proposed subdivision rules

Concerns about the county’s proposed subdivision regulations resulted in the Lampasas County Commissioners Court agreeing to take a step back and re-evaluate. Since January, the Commissioners Court has worked on proposed new subdivision regulations, designed to aid in growth and development.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened recently with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Placed on the 27 th District Court docket for Aug. 27 were the following: Arraignment of Bradley Scott Hurst of Burnet, on a charge of burglary of a building.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the Aug. 18 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 648, compared to 484 last sale and 663 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were $1-$3 higher, and slaughter bulls were steady to $2 higher.

Fire station to host free COVID-19 vaccination clinic

The Lampasas Fire Station, located at 1107 E. Fourth St., will host a mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free clinic is open to the public. No appointment is needed. The clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine — a two-dose requirement — for anyone age 12 and older.

Farm animal liability signs available from TFB

Earlier this year, Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 365, which expanded liability protection to farmers and ranchers on their own property under the Texas Farm Animal Liability Act. Those changes go into effect on Sept. 1 and require additional steps be taken by farm animal owners.
