Lampasas County has approved the hiring of a team of lobbyists to help fight for its share of state property tax revenue. On Monday, the Lampasas On Monday, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved a professional services agreement with Shine Strategy Inc., a consulting company.

Lampasas residents will see rate increase for electricity

Residents living within the Lampasas city limits will see an electric bill rate increase, effective with the first billing period in November. In initial reports, the city was not expecting to implement any utility rate increases in its Fiscal Year 2022 budget, which starts today.

Lampasas County Farm Bureau will host its annual convention Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the youth livestock show barn, located at the intersection of North U.S. Highway 183 and North U.S. Highway 281. A meal will be provided, and a business meeting will follow the meal.

The report from the Sept. 22 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 725, compared to 728 last sale and 389 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were $7-$10 lower. Slaughter cows were $1-$3 lower, and slaughter bulls were steady.
