Vision Lampasas once again will host the Squared Silly celebration with family-friendly activities and plenty of treats for children. Although the event was canceled last year, it is planned for Oct. 30 from 5-7:30 p.m. in downtown Lampasas.

The Bible Study Fellowship San Saba Satellite Discussion Group is studying “The Unexpected King: Matthew’s Account of Jesus” this fall. Women’s day and evening classes are available for a four-week mini-study of Matthew 5-7. In-person classes are Thursdays, beginning Oct. 21 from 9:30-11 a.m.

Lometa ISD considers removal of campus house

A two-story house located on the north end of the Lometa School grounds is up for bid to remove it from the campus. The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met Monday to discuss the structure’s future.
Redistricting, as approved by the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives, will place Lampasas County in District 68, which stretches west and north to the Oklahoma border. District 68 State Rep. David Spiller plans to host an event in Lampasas County once the governor makes the new redistricting maps official with his signature. HOUSE.TEXAS.GOV

The redistricting maps have earned approval by the Texas Legislature, and it appears a new face will represent Lampasas County at the House level. Gov. Greg Abbott signed the bill green-lighting the political maps Monday afternoon.

EARLY VOTING Early voting for the Texas constitutional amendment election is on weekdays through Oct. 29 at the county elections administrator’s office, 407 S. Pecan St., Suite 102 in Lampasas. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days, although polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
