Kempner to host low-cost pet vaccine event

Been pushing back that vet appointment to get a furry family member vaccinated or microchipped? Well, the city of Kempner can help its residents with that. Next month, the city will hold a free microchip and low-cost vaccination event near City Hall.

EARLY VOTING Early voting ends Oct. 29 on eight proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. Registered voters may cast a ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the county elections administrator office, 407 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas. Election day is Nov. 2, when vote centers will be open from 7 a.m.

No injuries reported in commercial truck rollover on FM 1478

A man walked away with no apparent injuries after his commercial vehicle rolled over Oct. 19. At approximately 5:31 p.m., DPS troopers were dispatched to FM 1478 just two miles west of Lampasas city limits to a one-vehicle rollover. Sgt.

Hunters Welcome planned

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center will welcome outdoor enthusiasts to town by kicking off deer hunting season at the annual Hunters Welcome. The event is scheduled Nov. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the H-E-B parking lot, at 705 S. Key Ave.

Range tour set Thursday

The Lampasas & Mills Range Tour has been rescheduled to Thursday at the Haney Ranch, located at 760 U.S. Highway 183 South in Goldthwaite. The program is presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

A Texas Well Owner Network Well Educated training has been scheduled for Nov. 2 in Lampasas. Well owners can bring a sample of their well water for testing the day before the training. The Well Educated training, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 8 a.m.
