The cost of growth

As Lampasas has grown over the past 10 years, city officials got to work responding to the opportunities brought by that growth to help the city and its residents flourish. The growth was predictable because of Lampasas’ proximity to other cities and the intersection of several U.S. highways.

County adopts new commissioner precinct boundaries

Some Lampasas County residents will have a different commissioner representing them, effective with the new year. On Tuesday, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court held a public hearing on redrawing commissioner precincts, followed by a vote.

FOOD PANTRY St. Mary Catholic Church will hold its monthly drive-through food pantry on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All in need are welcome. Come to the church parking lot at 701 N. Key in Lampasas, and volunteers will load up the vehicle with groceries.

Texas Farm Bureau to hold 88th annual meeting next month

Farmers and ranchers across the Lone Star State will meet in Corpus Christi in December as part of the 88th annual meeting of the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB), the state’s largest general farm and ranch organization.

The Browning Community Garden Club – serving the Kempner, Copperas Cove and Lampasas area – will hold its November meeting today at 10 a.m. The club meets at the Kempner Volunteer Fire Department Training Building, 315 Pecan St. in Kempner. New members are always welcome.

Class of 1956 celebrates 65th anniversary

The Lampasas High School Class of 1956 gathered this year at the Adamsville Community Center, where classmates reminisced and recognized the 65th anniversary of their graduation.
