The first 2022 Green Thumb program sponsored by the Highland Lakes Master Gardeners will be March 18 from 1-2 p.m. at Lakeshore Library, 7346 Ranch Road 261 in Buchanan Dam. The speaker is Jannie Vaught, a fifthgeneration farmer in Llano. Her presentation will be on soil regeneration.

Nix Community Center seeks funding to remain viable

The Nix School Community Center Committee has announced that the center may need to close its doors permanently. With a yearly budget of approximately $3,000 to cover insurance and utilities, there is not enough funding for repairs that the building requires, the committee said.
