Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.

Students and their parents joined Kline Whitis Elementary School teachers and staff for Family Night on Monday. There was a short skit on the life of Pecos Bill, and refreshments such as ice cream were served. Elementary campuses throughout the district hold such events every school year.

Gas prices inch closer to $4

The statewide average gasoline price in Texas is $3.37 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is 15 cents more than the price two weeks ago and 92 cents more per gallon compared to the same day last year.

Lampasas council OKs library projects with use of federal funding

The Lampasas City Council approved two improvement projects for the Lampasas Public Library using American Recovery Plan Act funds. The first project will connect the library to the city’s fiber optic network.

DRT PROGRAM The Oran Milo Roberts Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas invites the public to a presentation by former state historian Bill O’Neal on Audie Murphy, one of the nation’s most decorated veterans of World War II. The program will be Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Crawford, Miller advance to runoff election

Tuesday's unofficial numbers for the Lampasas County Clerk seat results in a runoff election.  Dianne Miller received 1,871, or 47.77% of the overall unofficial votes and Dee Ann Crawford earned 42.10% of the votes or 1,649. Tasha Bates received 397.

Wakeman, Hause win JP 1 and 4 seats

Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 Misty Wakeman, who was appointed last year to the seat of Precinct 1 justice of the peace, will remain at her post after prevailing in Tuesday's Republican Primary Election. Wakeman collected 1,057 votes, or 54.29% of the overall unofficial votes. Dr. James W.

Citywide brush chipping project to start March 7

The city of Lampasas will offer its spring brush-chipping program March 7 through April 1. The pick-up dates, areas of service and rules for the program are as follows: • March 7-11 — Northwest section of the city. West of Key Avenue and north of First Street.
