Leona Withers and Adam Casey worked in the field Saturday afternoon, tending to the hay bales at their small farm in east Lampasas County. The couple purchased the property six years ago after both retired from the military. “We wanted to settle and live our best natural lives,” Withers said.

Lometa Diamondback Jubilee returns for 50th anniversary festival

The Lometa Diamondback Jubilee and Rodeo is back after a two-year hiatus with a bigger and better 50th anniversary festival. The festivities will take place Friday and Saturday at the Lometa Regional Park, 15115 North U.S. Highway 183. Lometa Lions Club is hosting the event.

Museum taking reservations for Teddy Bear Tea Party

The Lampasas County Museum’s annual Teddy Bear Tea Party for children ages 4 to 8 will be April 2 at 2 p.m at the museum, 303 S. Western Ave. A hands-on quilt activity will be available to work on for those who arrive before 2 p.m.
