Recount results in new runoff election for Lampasas school board seat

The Place 5 seat on the Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees is headed to a runoff election, according to school officials. The seat has been held by board president David Millican, who did not seek re-election to another term.
On Tuesday, the Lampasas school board will vote on updated standard response recommendations geared toward active incidents such as shootings and severe weather. The district is also considering additional security measures for each campus. MONIQUE BRAND | DISPATCH RECORD

LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC The concert series Little Night Music will kick off this week at the courthouse bandstand in downtown Lampasas. A variety of singers and music styles will be offered each Friday in June. Zach Morris is slated to perform tonight from 8-10 p.m.

Operation Longhorn Round Table to be held Saturday

There will be an Operation Longhorn Round Table  from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, at the Lampasas County museum. Operation Longhorn was an 18-day military training exercise in the 1950s.  This exercise featured over 100,000 troops sent to “restore order” in town.
