Lometa City Council plans $707K budget

Lometa held its final budget workshop of 2022, as the city’s budget must be posted for 30 days prior to approval by the City Council. City staff anticipates an increase in property tax revenue, though the proposed levy did not increase and will stay at a rate of $0.3227 per $100 valuation.

STAAR testers at Taylor Creek Elementary School averaged better than they had the previous school year, according to documents released by the Lampasas Independent School District.

The report from the Aug. 24 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 312, compared to 574 last sale and 586 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers were steady; heifers $5-$7 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $3-$5 higher.
