October declared Chiropractic Health Month

The city of Lampasas has joined with the Texas Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association in proclaiming October 2022 as Chiropractic Health Month.

Lampasas County Young Life will hold its annual fundraising banquet Sunday from 5-7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2 Alexander Dr. in Lampasas. Dinner, live music and auctions will be part of the event.

AgriLife Extension to host Central Texas Sheep & Goat Seminar

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a Central Texas Sheep & Goat Seminar Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mills County Civic Center, 1807 Cline St. in Goldthwaite. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Construction to begin on new track for Lometa ISD

Lometa is upgrading the school’s track and field program, with a signed contract to begin construction on a new track this month. Austin-based Hellas Construction was awarded the $1,981,705 contract and anticipates a late-September start date.

Whitehead denied bond reduction in child custody case

The mother of three missing Kempner children was denied a reduction in bond. Kristine Whitehead, 35, remains in Lampasas County Jail on charges of interfering with child custody, a third-degree felony.
