Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Jacob Robert Easter of Lampasas received 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, probated for 10 years, for violating a bond/protective order-assault/stalking.

Morris receives 30-year sentence

A Temple man accused of firing at a game warden during a 2020 police pursuit received a 30-year sentence with a plea agreement. Robert Westly Morris II, 42, pleaded guilty to charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, and assault by threat, a third-degree felony.

The city of Lampasas is accepting applications for volunteer positions on city advisory boards. City officials said each year in September, terms for seats on several advisory boards expire, which can lead to open positions on various boards.
