THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS County offices as well as the municipal offices in Kempner, Lampasas and Lometa will be closed Nov. 24-25 in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays. In Lampasas, the Waste Connections trash collection will run one day later than the normal schedule on those days.

Inclement weather did not deter the city of Kempner from honoring local veterans last week at the annual Veterans Day ceremony. “Our veterans have faced much worse conditions,” Kempner Mayor John “J.W.” Wilkerson said before thanking all those in attendance.

Senior Center to hold a quilt raffle

Lampasas Site Council at the Lampasas Senior Center is holding a raffle for this handmade quilt. The queen-sized quilt is completely hand-appliqued and hand-quilted. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. The drawing will be held in May.
