Wallace sentenced in felony assault case

A Copperas Cove man has pleaded guilty to felony assault charges. In Lampasas County 27th District Court on Dec. 9, 29-year-old Desland Ray Wallace pleaded true and was found guilty of aggravated assault on a date/family/household member with a deadly weapon.

Lampasas Skate Park takes shape

The Lampasas Skate Park is taking shape following weather delays this season, officials said. Lampasas Parks & Recreation Director Chris Eicher said the dirt pad, which will serve as the foundation for the skate park, was completed recently.

The famous two-tailed mermaid logo has risen over Lampasas. Starbucks coffee, which has been under construction since May, erected signage last week on Key Avenue at its new location. Lampasas city officials said the business anticipates opening by mid-January 2023.

RED FLAG WARNING Earlier this week, County Judge Randy Hoyer issued a red flag warning for Dec. 22-23 due to expected high winds on Thursday and Friday. Although the county’s burn ban has been lifted until Jan. 9, 2023, no outdoor burning is allowed on these red flag days.
