Volunteers needed to assist with Meals on Wheels

Lampasas Senior Citizen Center is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to local homebound seniors as part of its Meals on Wheels program. If interested, contact Julie at 512556-2550, or go by the center at 901 S. Live Oak St. in Lampasas.

Stock show season on the horizon

After a successful Lometa FFA Livestock Show in December, youth are readying their entries for the Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show that will run Jan. 12-14. The show typically draws a good number of sheep exhibitors such as these, plus goat, hog, rabbit, chicken and cattle entries.

Christmas Eve run benefits fire victims

The report from the Jan. 4 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 492, compared to 631 last sale and 573 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $5-$10 higher.
