Public pool operations may be at risk this season due to a lack of applicants for city lifeguard positions. During a workshop Monday night, Lampasas city staff said they are struggling to fill openings for season lifeguards.

Commissioners Court designates April as Child Abuse Prevention Month

Little is more precious than the life of a child. Not every child, however, receives the loving upbringing needed to flourish.
The Lampasas Multi-Service/Senior Center is closed temporarily. Alternate accommodations have been arranged to continue the Meals on Wheels program, and planned events are being rescheduled on a week-to-week basis until the facility at 901 S. Senior Center closed due to structural concerns

City officials have temporarily closed the Lampasas Multi-Service/Senior Center following reports of structural issues at the facility. Center director Julie Windham said she called the city after spotting a concerning crack along the wall of the facility, located at 901 S. Live Oak St.

City officials will host a town hall meeting Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to offer information on local planning efforts surrounding the 2024 solar eclipse. The presentation will be held in the cafeteria of the old middle school campus off North Avenue and Western Street.

City officials have temporarily closed the Lampasas Multi-Service/Senior Center following reports of structural issues. Lampasas Assistant City Manager Ryan Ward said city officials were notified mid-week of some concerns with the building, located at 901 South Live Oak Street.

Conservation workshop set for Wednesday

A Local Work Group Meeting and Conservation Workshop will take place Wednesday for agriculture producers in Lampasas and Burnet counties. The workshop will be held at the Lampasas County Farm Bureau office, 1793 U.S. Highway 281, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Lampasas city leadership continues to prepare for the 2024 solar eclipse and has invited the community to participate in a town hall meeting on April 5. The gathering will be held in the cafeteria of the old middle school at 107 N. Main St. from 5:30– 6:30 p.m.
