LISD board votes to raise staff pay

Lampasas Independent School District employees are set to receive a pay raise for the 2023-2024 school year. The LISD Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to bump staff pay during Monday’s school board meeting. Trustees Harvey Stinnett and Sam Walker were absent from the session.

Preparations underway to handle eclipse crowds

From Friday, April 6, 2024 until Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Lampasas County could see its population double or even triple as thousands flock to the area for what is dubbed The Great North American Eclipse.

Lampasas County offices, plus the municipal offices in Lampasas, Lometa and Kempner will be closed today to observe Good Friday. The Dispatch Record office also will be closed Friday. Regular business hours will resume on April 10.
