Sheep field day planned for April 15 in Gatesville

The South Central Katahdin Association is hosting a free, all-day sheep field day April 15 in Gatesville for beginning and experienced sheep producers. Lunch will be included. The event takes place at the Gatesville Civic Center, 301 Veterans Memorial Loop, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Food pantry to open two dates each month

The St. Mary Catholic Church Food Pantry has expanded its serving hours to include an evening distribution along with its once-a-month Friday times. The next pantry date will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened March 24, with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Christon Lance Beamon of Moultrie, Georgia, pleaded guilty and was found guilty on two charges of theft from a person.
