Barbecue, auction to benefit KVFD

Kempner Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 43rd annual barbecue and auction fundraiser on Saturday at the main station, 315 S. Pecan. A barbecue meal will be served at 1 p.m., and a live auction will begin at 3 p.m.

Physicals for athletes to be offered at Lampasas High School, middle school

Spring physicals that will be good for next school year will be offered at Lampasas High School next month. Students-athletes who need a physical to participate in sports may get one from 8-10 a.m. May 10 at the high school fieldhouse.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Lloyd O’Neal Thomas of Temple had his probation adjudicated.

Lampasas man faces adjudication in child sex abuse case

A Lampasas County man will face adjudication on a child sexual assault charge after he is said to have violated his sex offender registry guidelines. Fidencio Constatino Maldonado has been issued another felony charge after failing to maintain his sex offender registration.

Commissioners Court OKs 2023 Spring Ho festival

On Monday, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved a resolution for the 2023 Spring Ho festival. The proclamation grants use of the public facilities for the sevenday spectacle. As in previous years, Spring Ho will begin the first Monday in July – on July 3 – and conclude July 10.

Lampasas council mulls utility rate increases, Hostess House work

Although utility rates and the Hostess House renovation dominated discussion at this week’s meeting of the Lampasas City Council, no decisions were made for either subject.
