Superintendent encourages Lometa voters to head to polls

Lometa ISD’s push for a new bond had one final step before election day, with Superintendent Rob Moore addressing the community via Facebook live last Monday night to review the details. A proposed $1.75 million bond would help the Lometa school district construct a new technical education complex.

Riata Roundup Rodeo action over the weekend was fast and furious. Although stormy weather had threatened to put a damper on the activities, the heavy rain moved elsewhere, and Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce officials said the rodeo and barbecue events enjoyed a good turnout.

Lampasas County is likely to see more stormy weather this afternoon. At 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Lampasas, Bell, Coryell, Hamilton and surrounding counties.

Lampasas Community Church eager to serve in new building

Lampasas Community Church’s new building at 1601 E. Fourth St. is ready for use. The congregation hosted its first worship service on April 2, after having met for years at a smaller building on East Third. Lead Pastor Zach Huckabee said the new structure is open to the community.
