A huge congratulations goes out to both the Badger baseball team and the Lady Badger softball team for their seasons. Also, both golf teams are headed to the state tournament in Kingsland with the girls to play May 15 and May 16, and the boys will tee it up on May 22 and May 23.

Whitehead serves commitment for civil contempt

After a final hearing in the custody case of her three children, Kristine Amber Whitehead, accused of their kidnapping, was sentenced to a commitment of 180 days in the Lampasas County Jail for contempt of civil court.

Collisions send three people to hospital

Two separate car crashes within Lampasas city limits sent three individuals to AdventHealth Rollins Brook last Friday afternoon. None of the reported injuries were deemed to be serious, according to Lampasas Police Patrol Lt. Chuck Montgomery.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Miguel Angel Ayala of Lampasas entered a plea of guilty to a charge of assault on a family/ household member with a previous conviction, and he was found guilty.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Engine 1 gets prepared for a day of service

Last Thursday morning by 7:45 a.m., this Lampasas fireman already was hard at work ensuring the fire truck was ready to respond to any emergency.

Annual FFA Awards Night held Tuesday

More than 225 members and guests attended the annual Lampasas FFA banquet. FFA members were recognized for outstanding achievement in various categories.

Commencement exercises set May 19

The graduation ceremony for the Lampasas High School Class of 2023 will be May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Badger Stadium. Gates will open at 6 p.m. Handicap seating will be available with room for one person to assist inside the gate. There is no reserved seating. Seating is on a firstcome basis.
