The Lampasas Multi-Service Center at 901 S. Live Oak is seeking volunteers to assist with its Meals on Wheels program. One fulltime driver is needed once a week, and substitute drivers also are needed. Those interested may stop by the center and speak with the director, Julie Windham.

Prom royalty reigns, rain or shine

Lampasas High School Prom King Coulson Plouff and Queen Brooklynn Minnick were crowned during the 2023 promenade inside the high school cafeteria. Rain over the weekend necessitated that the promenade be held indoors, rather than at W.M. Brook Park as planned.

Flood watch, heavy rain in forecast

With heavy rain in the forecast for Lampasas County, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from tonight at 7 p.m. though Sunday at 7 p.m. In a hazardous weather outlook report, NWS meteorologists note possibilities of severe storms that could bring large-sized hail this evening.

Blood drive comes to Lampasas

This was the scene at Tuesday’s community blood drive, held at First Street Church of Christ’s fellowship hall. A number of county residents donate blood regularly for those in need.

Reminder: Do not leave dogs unattended in vehicles

As temperatures are on the rise in Lampasas, it is important to remember not to leave pets in unattended vehicles. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, temperatures inside a vehicle can rise almost 20 degrees in just 10 minutes and almost 30 degrees in just 20 minutes.
