Property tax protest deadline nears

Lampasas County residents who have received an unexpected appraisal hike on their homes, businesses or real estate property have until Friday to protest the valuations. Most area residents were mailed their 2023 property tax notices on May 24.

Car Cruise set for Saturday

Tthe 37th annual Sulphur Creek Car Cruise will take place at W.M. Brook Park on Saturday. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the burnout competition scheduled to begin at noon.

Miss Spring Ho Pageant sign-up deadline nears

Soon, the 2023 Miss Spring Ho Queen will be crowned. The annual pageant will take place in the Lampasas High School auditorium on July 3 at 5:45 p.m. There is still time to register for the pageant. All entry forms must be submitted by the end of June 22.

KidFish event held at Sulphur Creek

Summer fun was in full effect over the weekend, as the city of Lampasas Parks and Recreation Department hosted a KidFish and Camping in the Park event last Friday and Saturday at W.M. Brook Park. The event began at 5:30 p.m. Friday with registration and safety information.

Browning Club celebrates National Garden Week

During the first full week of June each year, National Garden Clubs across the country celebrate National Garden Week. The week is set aside as an opportunity to encourage pride in the community, interest new members and work with other groups.
