The Lampasas River Watershed Partnership is coordinating a septic system repair and replacement program for residents in the Lampasas River watershed to help improve and protect water quality. Residents of the watershed may be eligible for up to $8,000 to repair or replace failing systems.

A Lampasas man will appeal a life sentence after pleading guilty to the murder of a Burnet County man and woman in 2021. James Joseph Luckenbach, 35, entered a guilty plea in May to the murder of a Horseshoe Bay couple and issued a notice of appeal in late June. On Aug.

The city of Lampasas will hold a public hearing Aug. 14 regarding the annexation of 12 acres of land that will extend the boundary of the city limits. The hearing is open for anyone interested in the proposed annexation. It will begin at 6 p.m.
