Officials confirm shooting in Lampasas

Update: At 11: 51 p.m. on Thursday, Lampasas Police confirmed the barricaded suspect of a shooting had taken his own life. “Law Enforcement on scene have confirmed that the stand-off has ended and the suspect is deceased from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Greenhouse ready for student use this upcoming school year

Lampasas High School has a new greenhouse that will be available to floral students this fall. The greenhouse is in the final stages of completion.The structure was approved earlier this spring by the LISD Board of Trustees for $54,299.55.

City of Lometa gets closer to selecting new police chief

After a special called meeting to select a new chief of police, the city of Lometa is closer to filling the position.Ronnie Strain, a 25year officer with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, is slated to become Lometa’s new police chief.

Student receives Area Go Texan scholarship

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has named 504 students who will receive $20,000 scholarships this year to pursue higher education.Kenzie Roberts is the Lampasas recipient of an Area Go Texan scholarship.
