Two dead in Hamilton County crash

Two Killeen residents lost their lives in a one-vehicle crash in Hamilton County early Sunday morning, and authorities have arrested the driver on intoxication manslaughter charges.Texas DPS officers responded to a onevehicle crash on U.S. Highway 281 about six miles south of Hamilton at 3:18 a.m.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday to continue the January term.Sgt. Investigator Garrett Bradley of the Lampasas Police Department presented information that resulted in two indictments: Harold Milton Simmons on a charge of theft involving an elderly person on June 29, 2023.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the day’s hearings.Most hearings were reset for new court dates, but action was taken on several cases.

New conference room debuts in Lometa

Lometa ISD’s newest meeting room has been repurposed from the district’s former athletic weight room. It now will serve as a conference room near the administration building.

In the Friday, March 7 edition of the Lampasas Dispatch Record, the arrest charges for Darrell Pryor and Dawn Michele McCombs were incorrectly listed.The charge for both suspects is claiming lottery prize by fraud between $200 and $10,000, which is a thirddegree felony.
