Ninety-day burn ban in place

During Monday’s regular meeting of the Lampasas County Commissioners Court, the commissioners agreed to a 90-day burn ban set to last until June 8.The decision didn’t come without discussion among commissioners who are eager to give residents the chance to burn when weather conditions settle down.

Pups and plants highlighted at the public library

Puppies and plants abound at the Lampasas Public Library this month.On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, the library will partner with the Lampasas Animal Shelter to offer “Paw Pals,” an opportunity for children to read to a dog at the library.

Diamondback Jubilee set for March 28-29

The midway is filled with people waiting to purchase concessions at last year’s Diamondback Jubilee. The Lometa Lions Club-sponsored event will offer dozens of vendors, plenty of rodeo action and a variety of contests and entertainment for festival-goers.
