CLASS REUNION

CLASS OF 1972 The Lampasas High School Class of 1972 will celebrate its 50-year reunion on July 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Putters & Gutters Fun Center, 2341 South U.S. Highway 281 in Lampasas. Cost is $15 per classmate. Food and beverages will be at the individual’s expense.

Reptile Day rescheduled

The Lampasas Public Library has rescheduled Reptile Day after a cancellation of the special event in June. The library will play host to slithery and scaly critters during a rescheduled visit from Tim Cole of Austin Reptile Service on July 12 from 10-11 a.m.

Colorado River Cattlewomen donate to Ronald McDonald House

The Colorado River Cattlewomen recently delivered a beef brisket and beef hot dog meal with all the trimmings to the Ronald McDonald House in Temple. The Ronald McDonald House accommodates eligible out-of-town families at no cost while their child is being treated at Temple-area medical facilities.

Go Texan scholarship winners announced

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials have announced the 493 students who received a scholarship from the organization’s education program. This includes Area Go Texan, exhibitor, military and other specialized scholarship awards that are offered under the HLSR umbrella.

PEC awards grants to local nonprofits

Pedernales Electric Cooperative has awarded more than $35,000 in community grants to eight nonprofits in the cooperative’s service territory. Every spring and fall, PEC offers up to $5,000 in grants to eligible nonprofit organizations to fund projects in the surrounding communities.

Road closure on West Avenue C

The City of Lampasas Public Works Department announced one city street closure Tuesday morning. Through the city's news flash, the department is asking drivers to avoid West Ave C today as the "road will be closed to allow for repairs.
