Kempner council discusses tax rate, staff reward system

In the throes of budget season, the Kempner City Council will set a public hearing on the municipal tax levy, with plans to maintain the existing rate. City Manager David C. Williams III said the vote to schedule the public hearing will occur during a special meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Chamber to host annual Lampasas County Wine Tour

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center will host the Lampasas County Wine Tour on Oct. 1. The tour will feature stops and tastings at several area wineries. This marks the 11th annual event offered by the chamber. The day will start at 9 a.m.

Browning Garden Club to hold membership drive

The Browning Community Garden Club will hold its annual membership drive on Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at Monty’s Steaks Brew and BBQ, 302 S. First St. in Copperas Cove. Membership is open to all. Guests are welcome. The club serves primarily the Kempner, Copperas Cove and Lampasas areas.
