The report from the Jan. 24 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 204, compared to 530 last sale and 259 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, stockers were steady to $5 higher; feeders $5-$7 higher on lightest.

Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 57-year-old man after his stepson reportedly shot him in a domestic dispute. LCSO deputies responded to the 2100 block of County Road 3790 to a report of a shooting on Thursday afternoon at 1:34 p.m.
