SMITH CEMETERY AT SCHOOL CREEK Smith Cemetery at School Creek Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting April 25 at the School Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 11228 County Road 3420. The meeting begins at 11 a.m. It will be followed by a potluck lunch.

My mom told me that somewhere around the ripe ol’ age of 3 or 4 I had informed her I wanted to be a hobo when I grew up (I’ve mentioned this before -- you’re keeping up, right?). I passed on being a cowboy or a pilot or even Superman and settled on a hobo.

’36 Club celebrates 90 years in Lampasas

GFWC The ’36 Club, organized in 1936, celebrated 90 years of charitable work and civic engineering at its April 9 meeting.About 30 club members gathered at the Lampasas County Museum for a special viewing of the museum’s exhibition charting the history of the club and its activities.
LAFTA has distributed over 70 popsicles developed by sixth-grade Lampasas Middle School art students to 25 different businesses. ‘Popsicles on the Loose’ leads into Arts in the Park for Kids

To promote its Arts in the Parks for Kids event this Saturday, the Lampasas Association for the Arts is hosting its first ever city-wide art installation, “Popsicles on the Loose,” through April 26.

Dirt from bucking broncs and bulls will fill the air at the 580 Sports Complex’s rodeo arena for the Riata Roundup Rodeo. The rodeo action is set for April 22-25.

Local Aggies to gather for Muster tradition

On April 21, all former and current students of Texas A&M University, their family and friends are invited to uphold a century-old tradition by gathering at the Lampasas County Muster, hosted by the Lampasas County A&M Club.
