LAFTA engages children in the arts during annual event

Lodge presents community award

Community Bridge draws large group of card players

Community Bridge met April 13 with six tables of players competing. Margaret Oberender took first place, Martha Barrett was second, and Jim Hutchinson came in third.High round was claimed by Carolyn Anderson and Margaret Oberender. The slam prize went unclaimed for the second month in a row.

Central Texas chorus wins medals at Houston competition

Chisholm Trail Chorus, the premier women’s a cappella group in Central Texas, garnered three major awards at a regional contest recently in Houston.The group earned First Place Division A; Third Place overall; and Most Improved in the competition among eight choruses from Texas and Louisiana.

L-M Garden Club holds annual flower show

On the evening of April 20, L-M Garden and Civic Club held its annual Flower Show. Although it was a wet, cold and windy evening, there were many entries and members enjoyed lots of fun.

Prom royalty named

Johnnie Lewis, left, and Zimri Vergara were selected Prom Queen and Prom King during Lampasas High School festivities April 11 at W.M. Brook Park. Rain showers held off long enough for most couples to make the promenade over the bridge and through the park.
