Boys & Girls Club fundraiser will support projects, meals, and kids

Abarn dance fundraiser on May 18 will support a program that has helped Lampasas children through education, meals, and providing a safe place to grow.The Boys and Girls Club of Lampasas has served area families for many years.

Browning Garden Club prepares for upcoming show

The Browning Community Garden Club met April 16 in the Kempner Volunteer Fire Department training room. Refreshments were provided by Paula Boales-Pabis, and coffee was provided by Melissa Adams.The meeting opened with a prayer and inspirational reading; a short business meeting followed.

The Lampasas High School Academic, Speech and Debate teams competed in Burnet the first week of April at the district UIL competition, and LHS brought home its third consecutive district championship.

’36 Club to offer guided tours at upcoming ‘Walk in the Parks’

To welcome spring, the Lampasas GFWC ’36 Club is sponsoring a “Walk in the Parks” event, featuring the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden at Campbell Park, Lampasas Community Gardens – also in Campbell Park – and Cooper Spring Nature Park.The open house event is scheduled for May 4 from 1011:30 a.m.

This year’s edition of the Riata Roundup Rodeo & LTX BBQ Fest will take place at the 580 Sports Complex from April 25-27.Vendor booths have sold out for the event, but those looking to register their youngster for mutton busting or the barbecue cook-off may do so.

Hundreds gather at Brook Park to view total solar eclipse

The total solar eclipse that swept through Lampasas this week brought hundreds of people into town to take part of the event. Many of them gathered in W.M. Brook Park to experience the eclipse and longer period of totality.
