Pecan Field Day set for May 5

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the San Saba County Pecan Growers Association will host the annual Pecan Field Day on May 5 at the San Saba Civic Center, 1190 Thomas Stewart Dr.Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the program to start at 9 a.m.

Miceli, area law enforcement agencies honor DJ Daniel at Texas Capitol

Lampasas County resident Paul Miceli held back tears at the Texas Capitol while presenting 13-year-old Devarjaye 'DJ' Daniel with honorary swearing-in certificates from local law enforcement agencies.

Good Friday fundraiser to benefit 100 Club

On Friday, McDonald’s restaurants across Central Texas will hold a fundraiser to support local 100 Club chapters in their mission to help family members of law enforcement officers and firefighters who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

LMS welding students hone skills in competition

Lampasas Middle School’s three introduction to welding classes competed in a T-joint welding competition last Friday.The introductory class at LMS is a prerequisite to more advanced welding classes at Lampasas High School.

Riata Roundup Rodeo and LTX BBQ Fest around the corner

Get ready to rock, roll, rodeo and round up the barbecue pits. The Riata Roundup Rodeo & LTX BBQ Fest will take place April 2326. This will mark the fifth year the event has been held at the 580 Sports Complex.

Annual fundraiser set April 19 for Kempner Volunteer Fire Department

Kempner Volunteer Fire Department’s major fundraiser of the year is planned for April 19.The KVFD BBQ & Auction event will begin with the box sale at 12:30 p.m. The barbecue lunch starts at 1 p.m., and the auction will open at 3 p.m.
