May blood drive planned in memory of Mike Aaron

The next American Red Cross Community Blood Drive will take place May 13-14 at the First Street Church of Christ Family Life Center, 201 W. First St. in Lampasas.Donation hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days. The May blood drive is in memory of Robert “Michael” Aaron Sr., who died in January.

Riata Roundup Rodeo royalty announced

The 2025 County of Lampasas Rodeo Association royal court was announced last weekend.The girls’ bios follow.Hadyn Ferguson is a proud 12-year-old cowgirl from a rodeo family in Lampasas.

CEMETERY ASSOCIATIONS

The annual meeting and workday will be held May 3 at Cauble Cemetery. The workday will begin around 8 a.m., and lunch will be at noon.Those coming to work may want to bring rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows. The cemetery association will furnish the fish and paper goods for the lunch gathering.

CLASS REUNIONS

The Lampasas High School Class of 1961 will celebrate its 64-year reunion on Saturday at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 2 p.m.Friends are welcome to come join the group and visit.

Cantata performs today

Several local churches will present a Good Friday Community Cantata entitled “Harvest of Sorrows.” The cantata will be performed at First Presbyterian Church today at noon and again at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
