Child Abuse Prevention Month

April was Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the local CPS board offered its appreciation to the community for helping support this cause. Storefront windows were painted by Sarah Santini and Jeanie Smith to bring awareness to child abuse prevention, and XFX members helped place signs around town.

A few spots remain for Little Badger Theatre Camp

The Lampasas Theatre Company will host its annual Little Badger Camp for incoming first- through sixth-graders May 19-23 at Lampasas High School.The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Saltworks Camp No. 2353 has taken on the responsibility of caring for and maintaining the Nix Cemetery in Lampasas County.

L-M Garden Club holds annual Flower Show

On the evening of April 21, the L-M Garden and Civic Club held its annual Flower Show at the club building in Lometa.“All the entries were just fabulous,” said a club spokesperson.Sheri Stone served as judge for the event and provided critiques for each entry.

Blood drive May 13-14

The next American Red Cross Community Blood Drive will take place May 13-14 at the First Street Church of Christ Family Life Center, 201 W. First St. in Lampasas.Donation hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days.The May blood drive is in memory of Robert “Michael” Aaron Sr., who died in January.
