Helping to stamp out hunger

Lampasas Mission Food Pantry volunteers offered their thanks to Benny Boyd for covering food costs associated with the Pork Chop Fundraiser the nonprofit held in May at the fire station. Community support helps provide funding to keep the food pantry ministry going.

Summer bridge play continues

Twenty bridge players met June 9 for their monthly Community Bridge games.Barbara Smith took first place, Margaret Oberender was second, and Nell Lane came in third. Linda Williams and Barbara Mullican won the high round prize. There were no slams bid and made.

Sulphur Creek Car Cruise set for June 28

The 39th annual Sulphur Creek Car Cruise will be held June 28. The cruise is a chance for motor vehicle enthusiasts to exhibit and view specialty cars.Hosted by Advanced Window Tint, the event will take place at W.M. Brook Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Retired teachers association installs new officers

Lampasas County Retired Teachers Association recently voted in and installed new officers for 2025-2027.The LCRTA Executive Board met June 3 to plan meetings for the coming school year. All five officers and two committee chairs were present.
