Brewer shares citizenship story

On May 13, the Texas First Conservative Alliance members held their monthly gathering and featured a presentation by Frida Brewer, a resident of Lampasas since 2020.Brewer explained her decision to become a citizen of the United States in 1997 as a personal goal.

PIANO TECHNICIANS GUILDBill Yick, RPT*, of Lampasas recently completed an intensive, two-day seminar conducted by the Piano Technicians Guild.The “Polyester & Lacquer Finish Touch-Up Academy” taught attendees how to perform professional repair and touchup to damage on piano finishes.

Bridge players win prizes, donate to Senior Center

Community Bridge players met on May 12 for their monthly session of card playing.Beth Griess came in first, Linda Williams was second, and Lou Wiginton placed third. Kathy Griffis-Bailey and Barbara Mullican took home the high-round prize, and no one won the slam prize.

Oak Hill Cemetery plans workdays

Oak Hill Cemetery staff and the Oak Hill Cemetery Association will continue spring cleaning efforts this month. Families with loved ones at the cemetery are encouraged to come help “spruce up” gravesites on May 19-23 between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

It's safe to say Lampasas High School science teacher Dejah Bushong’s classroom lives on the wild side.From mock body farms to arson labs, Bushong has a little bit of everything in her forensic science and anatomy and physiology courses.

Lampasas FFA ag business management, ag sales teams enjoy competing at state level

For the first time, Lampasas FFA Agricultural Sales and Farm/Agribusiness Management teams competed in their respective state competitions at Sam Houston State University.The Ag Sales team was made up of Chandler Boultinghouse, Jacie Resa, Ava Rojas and Janie Turner.
